Phyllis C. Roff 81, passed away August 11, 2014 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Ontario, Oregon. Phyllis was born to James and Mary Crispino Roff March 27, 1933 in Parma, Idaho where she was raised and educated and she also graduated from the University of Idaho. After college she worked as a PE and Health teacher at Vale Union High School for 24 years. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, sports and shopping. She was a true Vandals fan and a big supporter of the Vale Vikings. Phyllis also loved to take pictures and she would develop two, one for her and one for the subject. Phyllis lived at Pioneer Place for the past 4 years. She inspired the workers and other clients to enjoy the moment. Her competitive spirit kept the bingo and other games alive and fun. Phyllis was nearly deaf and blind but she didn’t let that slow her down. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Vale Seniors and Women Without Partners. Phyllis is survived by so many friends who were her family. Especially Sandy Mayo who has taken such good care of her throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother. Rosary will be held 6:00 PM Monday, August 18, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Vale. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 19, 2014 also at St. Patrick’s. Interment will be at Parma Cemetery, Parma at a later date.
