Frances Ceniga (Pugh) - Class Of 1943

Frances (Ceniga) Pugh – September 22, 1925 – May 3, 2017

Frances, age 91, passed away peacefully at home in Milwaukie, Oregon on May 3, 2017. She was born in Vale, to Damian (Dan) and Maria Ceniga on September 22, 1925. She was raised in Vale along with four brothers and two sisters. She graduated from Vale High School in1943.

After graduating, Frances and a friend from school moved to Portland, where Frances went to work in the Naval Shipyards as a welder by day and attended secretarial classes at night.

After WW II ended she began working for Portland General Electric where she was employed for over 30 years.

Frances married Raymond B. Pugh of Portland August 16, 1947.  They moved back to Vale in 1982 after their retirement.

Frances loved to bake, read, sew, work in her garden, host family get together and cheer on all Vale sporting events, especially when it involved her grandchildren.

Her husband of 41 years, her parents, four brothers and two sisters preceded Frances in death.

She leaves behind her son, Bill (Karen) Pugh of Vale, daughter Susan (Raymond) deBoer of Milwaukie, Oregon, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A graveside burial is planned for 11:00 am on Friday, May 12th at Valley View Cemetery in Vale.
