Rodney Ervin Williams

 July 26, 1952 ~ Dec. 7, 2018

Rodney Ervin Williams, 66, of Vale, passed away on Dec. 7 at a hospital in Boise, Idaho. He was lovingly surrounded by his children and siblings.

Rod was born to Thayer and Lee Williams of Vale on July 26, 1952. Rod was an energetic young man who excelled at football, basketball, and track. A Vale Viking through and through, he would spend the rest of his days cheering on his alma mater.

Rod worked for United Parcel Service for 31 years. He enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, water skiing, the Owyhee Mountains, Boise State football and bragging about his children and grandchildren.

He will be remembered for being the life of the party, making friends with complete strangers and being a loving friend, brother, uncle, dad and grandpa.

Rodney is survived by his siblings Diane Tiffany, Linda Schoenborn and Jay Williams; his children Tyler Williams (Roseanne) and Kelli Davis (Jeremy); as well as his grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Thayer, Dylan, Raphael, Kaylie, Lyla, Greyson and Declan. He was preceded in death by his parents Thayer and Leola Williams and brothers in law Darryl Schoenborn and John Tiffany.

A celebration of Rod’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Parish Hall, 690 A St W, Vale, OR 97918.
