Dennis Nakamoto - Class Of 1961

Dennis Nakamoto December 28, 1943 – March 24, 2008

Dennis Nakamoto, age 64, of Lake Stevens, Wash., and former long-time resident of Bothell, Wash., passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 24, 2008. He was born Dec. 28, 1943 in Heart Mountain, Wyo., to Kay and Martha Nakamoto. The oldest of four children, he grew up in Jamieson, Ore. Dennis served four years in the U.S. Air Force, then attended Oregon State University School of Pharmacy (go Beavers!). He began his 36- year career as a pharmacist, most of which were spent at Everett General Hospital (now Providence Everett), where he worked until his passing.

Survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Sonia; his three daughters, Wendy (Rick) McKennon; Michelle (Darin) Wallace, the youngest, and also his co-worker, Jennifer; along with grandchildren, Jake, Hailey, Nicholas, Katelyn and Jillian. Also surviving are his mother Martha; brothers, Steven (Kay) Nakamoto and Alan Nakamoto; sister Cheryl (Mike) Pershall; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wendell and Donna Helm; brother-in-law Warren (Jean) Helm; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

In addition to his wife, daughters and grandchildren, his main passion in life was golf. His dream was to golf in every state, and he even managed two holes in one! He enjoyed playing with his four-legged companion, Molly May, working in his garden, traveling and caravanning with their Airstream trailer friends.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
