Matthew Allan Johnson - Class Of 2003

Matthew Allan Johnson

Matthew Allan Johnson   Oct. 8, 1984 - Aug. 30, 2015

Matthew Allan Johnson was born October 8, 1984 in Ontario, Oregon and passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 in Vale, Oregon.

Matt graduated from Vale High School in 2003 and attended a few colleges including Weber State, ITT, and TVCC, always wanting to try out new studies and touching everyone he encountered.

Matt, or “Matty” as many knew him, grew up in Vale and resided there most of his life. Residents would often see him driving around in his little white truck that he loved, waving hello to everyone and helping out those he could.  Matt was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back and only ask for some company in return.

Matt was a loyal fan of the Boise State Broncos and San Francisco 49ers; he wouldn’t let anyone talk smack about his teams.

Matt enjoyed cooking and created many of his own unique recipes that were delicious. He also had a love for art, and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and working in the yard.  He will always be known for his loving smile, his love for animals, and his courageous acts.

He is survived by his parents; Annette (Lugo) Johnson of Vancouver, WA, and Geary and Debbie Johnson of Vale, OR; siblings Michelle (Mike) Beltran, Marc (Amanda) Johnson, Morganne Johnson, Samuel Martin, and Jacob Johnson; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  We love you Matthew! Peace be with you until we meet again.

A funeral in Matt’s behalf will be held at the Vale LDS Church on Friday September 4, 2015 at 10am.

A viewing will be held Thursday evening at Vale’s Lienkaemper Chapel from 6-8pm and Friday at 9am at the LDS church.

In Lieu of flowers a Matthew “Matty” Johnson memorial fund had been set up at the Vale branch of the Malheur Federal Credit Union. All donations will be used to pay for funeral expenses. Any remaining funds will be donated in his name to an animal rescue shelter.
