Glade Jack Chadwick

Glade Jack Chadwick - Nov. 3, 1930 - Sept. 13, 2019

NYSSA

On September 13, 2019 Glade Jack Chadwick went to join the Lord and his wife in heaven. He is in no more pain and happy to be with those he has missed.

Glade was born on November 3, 1930 in American Fork, Utah. The family moved to Vale, Oregon where he graduated from Vale High School in 1950. He married the love of his life, Mary Lee Terhune on July 11, 1954. They were together for 64 years and have two daughters: Mary Ann and Jackie.

In 1999 the son they always wanted, Bledi, joined the family through the exchange program.

He enjoyed the six grandkids coming in and out of the house to visit and talk with: Lindsey, Sean, Kristal, Scotlyn, Kristel, and lvian. There were many others he claimed, including foster kids, exchange students, and the many others his children and grandkids brought into his life.

Glade was well-known throughout the Nyssa area. He was a manager at the Oregon concrete plant for 25 years. He worked 18 years at the Nyssa School District as Custodian and three years as the High School Golf Coach. He was always willing to help a teacher or student in many different ways. He served 18 years at Nyssa Ambulance where he was an EMT and volunteer fireman.

Glade was active in the Golden Rule Lodge #147 Masons for 50 years, Lions Nyssa Chapter for 40 years, SRV wrestling referee, and an honorary member of the Nyssa FFA Chapter. Glade was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He could also be found on a golf course.

Glade was a former Nyssa City Mayor. It is a standing family story of The Oregonian printing a story about being the 1st Oregon female mayor. Boy did he get a laugh at that when a former high school teacher of his sent him the article. He will be missed by many for his willingness to help often and share a laugh.
