Margerie Evelyn Foster (Shoemaker)

Margerie Evelyn (Foster) Shoemaker - Jan. 12, 1927 – Nov. 21, 2022

We are sad to announce that Margerie Evelyn Shoemaker passed on to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, at the age of 95.

Marge was born in Weiser, Idaho, to parents Grover and Pearl Foster on Jan. 12, 1927, at a camp where her father was tending sheep. Marge spent her childhood growing up on the family ranch in Vale, Oregon and was the third of seven children which included siblings Glen, Edrie, Thursie, Donald, Everal (Sally) and Delbert (Sam).

There are countless interesting stories from the ranch days and Marge often said “If I wrote a book, no one would believe it!”

Marge married Stephen Shoemaker on Sept. 20, 1948, and together they had two daughters, Denise and Stephanie.

Marge will be laid to rest in in Vale, where her husband and two daughters also reside. Marge is survived by her granddaughter Alicia, grandsons Gregory and Stephen as well as great grandchildren Justin, Angela, Abigail, Grayson, Darius and Sarina.

Graveside services will be at Valley View Cemetery in Vale, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28.

The family requests that any donations be made to Lighthouse Church in Novato, California, in lieu of flowers.Graduation Class 1949
