Penny Hartley Kenison

Steve and I divorced in 1988. I had a liver transplant in 1992 and made the choice of not working outside the home and staying home raising my four children. They were between the ages of 9 and 15 years old. I have basically been on disability ever since. I've tried working a couple of times but just didn't have the energy to sustain a full time job. I have been more lucky than unlucky getting to stay home with my family and living to not just see my children graduate but to see 3 of them married {all within 5 months} and get to see 5 wonderful grandchildren born and being raised. I might not have much in the way of money but my life has been very rich with a great family and wonderful friends and a God that has helped me everytime I needed it. I don't think I was born with the strength to deal with my life, I think He gave me that strength. I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible, either in the yard, or in the mountains camping, hunting and riding my 4-wheeler. You can sure get a lot of nothing done and still recharge your batteries from a lawn chair or seat of a bike. I have spent coutless hours with my family and friend doing nothing in the outdoors. It was soooo great. I have pretended for the last 15 years to archery hunt for 2 or 3 weeks each fall, but it is mostly a great time hanging out with special friends and family. I have harvested a couple of deer, but I am still trying {not to hard} for an elk. Anymore a camera is easier to carry than a bow and arrows.

I had best not tell any stories about high school as I don't know what the statue of limitations might be. But really, I am always surprized when people say how they hated school. I had great friends and great times in high school.
